A group of over 400 dual citizens crossed the Rafah border on 2nd November from Gaza to Egypt. According to the Al Ekhbariya TV Channel ’20 ambulances are being prepared to enter the crossing of the border to transport the Palestinians who are injured’. There were also reports that almost 100 humanitarian aid trucks for Palestinians will be sent from Egypt to Palestine during the crossing.
The Foreign Minister of Egypt said earlier that the authorities of the country were preparing to assist in the evacuation of around 7,000 foreign nationals from more than 60 countries outside Gaza. The Al-Ahram newspaper on Wednesday reported that the foreign minister of Egypt would issue transit visas to the people that have dual citizenship on the condition that their further evacuation home is ensured by diplomatic missions.
On the 1st of November, around 360 foreign nationals crossed the Gaza Strip to Egypt via the Rafah crossing. The incoming information says that they are mostly employees of international organizations and dual nationals. Also, 45 Palestinians who were injured in the shelling of Gaza by Israel were also transferred to Egypt. The evacuation of the foreign nationals and injured is expected to continue happening in the coming days.
