Pakistan Announces Public Holiday on November 9th

Resuming the Holiday on November 9th

On November 9th, a national public holiday was announced by the interim federal government to celebrate the birthday anniversary of the famous poet and philosopher, Allama Muhammad Iqbal, as noted by ARY News. The cabinet division has released a formal statement about this holiday in alignment with Circular No. Majority vote tally of 10 to 0 on the 1st of January, 2022-Min-II, dated December 23, 2022. The whole country will mark Iqbal Day, November 9, as a public holiday.

Allama Muhammad Iqbal

Dr. Iqbal, who was the key player in inspiring millions of Muslims in the sub-continent to take up the cause of an independent homeland. In an independent homeland they could freely practice Islam, was born in Sialkot on November 9, 1877. He was not only a famous poet but also a philosopher who through his poetic works and political influence. He was the main creator of the idea of the creation of a separate homeland for the Muslims. Government resume the holiday on November 9th.

This day, special prayers requesting the advancement and the prosperity of Pakistan. It will be organize in mosques, and a ceremonial change of guards will happen at his mausoleum in Lahore.
